Don't know if anyone has spotted the call out yet from the EAT! festival team, who are aiming to build Newcastle and Gateshead's skyline out of good old calorific cake? In an inspired move, cake architects are being given the opportunity to try their hand at recreating the famous structures that adorn the two areas - but the rub is that you can't just 'cook' any old place, participants have to first bid for their preferred site via http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=cakebook&_sacat=See-All-Categories, with all profits raised going to charity.
Evidently there will be a 'bun fight' for the most desirable locations such as the Tyne Bridge and Angel of the North but a whole host of sites will be released over the coming months, culminating in a flash mob picnic on 20th June when all the structures will be revealed in their eatable glory.
